Design Out Crime programme is an initiative tasked at exploring how better design can help to combat crime. To mark the end of the project we were asked to design a number of reports that summarised the insights and findings, providing an inspirational starting point for the next generation of crime-fighting design-thinkers and enablers.
We created and implemented a content strategy that ‘chunked-up’ the vast number of stories across a suite of individual books with broad, accessible themes. The books were brought together in a striking but economical slip-case that conveyed the value and impact of the initiative.
Design Out Crime continues as the Home Office’s Forum for Innovation in Crime Prevention.
Spreads use illustration and
photography to reinforce
themes in an engaging way.
A more serious tone was adopted for hard facts and figures, while practical illustrations make ideas clear and easy to understand.
As part of the project, we designed the launch event for a revolutionary new pint glass, designed to reduce injuries caused by violent glassing attacks.
