Background

The Working Well Design Challenge was launched by Design Council and Nominet Trust, tasking three design teams to find new ways of helping young people to develop their talents and make a living. And in doing so, launch themselves as start-up businesses.

Brief

We were asked to create an identity and launch materials for the programme that captured the energy and optimism of young people.

Big idea

To communicate the energy and optimism of young people, and represent the Challenge’s ‘incubating’ process, we created an-all encompassing ribbon that wrapped around and framed content, with a different  colour for each team.

For the spatial aspect of the brief, cardboard was used as an economical material to create scale within the space. Each team was assigned a number of cardboard boxes that were wrapped in a vinyl ribbon, which also continued along the walls of the Design Council office, framing and connecting content.

Each team’s story and business proposition were contained on individual folded posters, all held together in a slip case alongside another poster describing the context and objective of the challenge.
